Membership: A USS Hornet Association Membership is required to participate in the Reunion
activities.
Hotel: (The Hotel is now full. USS Hornet reservations are now sold out. Please call Torri to be placed on a waiting list at 1-703-299-0868) The Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, 625 First St., Old Alexandria, VA 22314. Phone: 877-504-0047. E-
Mail: www.holidayinn.com. Although the cutoff date for reservations is September 14, 2011, we recommend
that you make your reservations as soon as possible. The rate is $109.00 + tax, of course; for a single/double
room. The rate is good for 3 days before and 3 days after. Attendees need to request the group rate for
USS Hornet Association.
The Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites is still sold out of rooms. Our reunion planner was able to get us two over flow hotels. They are as follows:
Old Colony Inn, which is a Best Western and within a short walk (almost next door)
to the Holiday Inn Alexandria (703) 739-2222 has reserved 11 rooms for us and
will hold them until August 31. Rate is the same $109.00 w/ beakfast. They have
4 rooms with double beds, 5 Kings & 2 handicap.
Holiday Inn, Alexandria, Eisenhower Blv'd (about 2 1/2 miles away) (703) 460-3400
$109.00 rate but NO BREAKFAST They will hold 20 rooms for us, the majority of
the rooms are double beds. They have a shuttle and will transport our people to
our hotel upon request at no charge. They will hold this block of rooms to August 21.
Parking: Self-Parking is complimentary for the attendees of the USS Hornet Reunion. There will be limited
parking for RVs.
Ground Transportation: The closest airport is Washington National – Ronald Reagan (DCA). The hotel offer
complimentary shuttle service from Washington National Airport. Please use the courtesy phone in the
baggage claim area.
Name Badges: If you have attended previous reunions, you may have gotten the hard plastic name badge
already. If you turned them in at the last reunion, we have them and will bring them to the reunion: but if you
kept your name badge remember to bring it to the reunion. If you lost your badge, you will need to
complete the form and pay for a new one. The badge validates your membership in the Association and you
will be recognized as a member of the group while on tours and attending functions.

Registration Form: This form provides a checklist for all the materials included and outlines action required to
join in the reunion activities. Read it carefully! Complete the items requested and send the form with your Party
Package/Registration check to the Association Secretary. The address info is on the bottom of the form.

Ship’s Store: You may want to place an order for some of the items before the reunion—but rest assured
there will be a Ship’s Store set up at the reunion. If you decide to order something, mail your order to Lyn and
Carla at the address on the forms. Be sure to include your phone number and/or e-mail address in case they
have a question about your order.
National Reunion Planners: As you will see, they have put together some very interesting tours. After reading the descriptions, complete your Reservation Form and send it to NRP. Their address is on the Tour

USS HORNET ~ 2011 REUNION
Washington, DC ~ September 14th - 18th, 2011
Welcome to Washington, DC
Washington, DC is the heart of the American experience. From its celebrated symbols of patriotism,
monuments to the past, and aspirations for the future, our Nation’s Capital is truly awe inspiring. The 2011 USS
Hornet Reunion is your opportunity to share and remember your own American experience. There will be many
opportunities to reflect on history as you tour Arlington Cemetery, the WWII, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials,
and take part in a special wreath laying ceremony at the United States Navy Memorial. Digest history, experience
the present and ponder the future of this most American of cities, during your outstanding reunion program. Don’t
miss it!
Hotel Information

The reunion officially runs from Wednesday, September 14th until Sunday, September 18th. You will be staying
at the full service Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites located at 625 First Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. The Holiday
Inn Hotel is located close to many of Washington’s most popular attractions.
The room rate is just $109.00 plus tax per night based on single or double occupancy. The room rate includes
breakfast served daily in the hotel restaurant. For those of you who choose to arrive early or stay late, the same
room rate is available two days prior and two days after, based on availability. Please make your hotel reservations
NOW by calling the hotel directly at 877-504-0047 between 9am-4 pm EST and ask for in-house reservations.
You may cancel up until 48 hours before arrival at no penalty. Mention that you are with the USS Hornet Reunion
to assure you are associated with our group. You may request specific room types when you call to make your
reservations (handicap accessible room, etc.). The hotel check-in time is 3:00pm. Please, do not expect to get into
your room before then. They will ask you for a deposit or credit card number to guarantee your room reservation.
The hotel is holding rooms until they sell out or August 5th, 2011 whichever comes first.
Transportation & Directions

service from Washington National Airport. Please use the courtesy phone in the baggage claim area. For those of
you driving to the reunion, we have negotiated complimentary parking for the duration of the reunion.
